Jesus Ait Idir Lahuerta

I am currently a PhD student at the University of Oxford under the supervision of Prof. Maria Bruna and Prof. José Carrillo. I am working on pattern formation and collective behaviour in biological and physical systems.

My work focuses on the analysis of mathematical tools that can be applied to understand these systems. In particular, I have been working on analytical tools for PDEs that arise as macroscopic limits of stochastic models in biological settings.

I am very interested in the micro-to-macro picture and in understanding the limitations of macroscopic models. I want to learn what impact do stochastic effects or other modelling assumptions, such as locality, have on the existence and persistence of patterns. If you have similar interests, do get in touch!
